EVIDENCE & COST-EFFECTIVENESS
Our model delivers proven impact, cutting costs by up to 80% compared to traditional programs
COST-EFFECTIVENESS
Our model offers a high return on investment, within the range of the most cost-effective interventions in global health
MALARIA
Cost per patient
(commodities included)
$3.20 per patient
$84 per DALY averted
<$2,700 per death averted with management of malaria-negative fevers
10x more effective than cash using Effective Altruism model
HIV
Annual cost per patient
(commodities excluded)
$10 per patient for a year of service delivery, excluding commodities
$80-97% cost savings versus status quo*
<$2,000 per life-year gained for adolescent girls & young women on PrEP*
VISION
33.4% higher median incomes over 8 months*
94x income gains over 2 years versus cash equivalent
BUILT FOR EFFICIENCY
How we do lower costs while boosting quality and scaling impact?
We work with existing pharmacies and local workforce, leveraging infrastructure that’s already built and rooted in communities
Our software is built for scale and supports many health areas, so fixed costs like tech and logistics can serve more patients without adding new overhead
We use targeted last-mile financing and verification tools to prevent fraud and direct care only to those who need it
RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIALS
Our model has been rigorously tested in gold-standard studies in partnership with leading academic institutions

Malaria
Our program more than quadrupled the rate at which providers followed malaria testing and treatment guidelines in Kenya. Importantly, there was a drop in antimalarial use when people tested negative in this study.

Women’s Health
Women opted for a longer-acting contraceptive (Sayana Press) nearly 6 times more often through our program, and they tended to switch away from short-acting emergency contraceptives.

HIV Prevention
We’re testing pharmacy-based models for PrEP and PEP delivery to reach key populations. This includes two randomized trials: one underway in Kenya, and another to launch in Tanzania focusing on adolescent girls and young women.
IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE
We use A/B testing, real-time data, and rapid iteration to validate assumptions and scale what works
OUR PATH
How we’ve gone from proving the model to shaping the future of health systems

Early (2017–2020)
Build, learn, create evidence
We started by building core technology, listening to providers, and generating rigorous evidence through randomized trials and pilot programs.
Current (2021–Now)
Scale, adapt, strengthen
Our model has grown to thousands of sites across Africa, with new health areas, government partnerships, and real-time data systems supporting scale and sustainability.
Next
Shape markets, transform systems
We’re helping governments shift from donor to domestic funding, integrating private pharmacies into broader health systems. Our outcomes fund will unlock government financing for verified care, enabling other partners to scale sustainble, locally led programs through our platform.
