PATIENT PROGRAMS
Patients receive higher quality, more affordable care when trusted providers are empowered by the right technology & resources
Our Approach
Our impact lies in the power of small financial nudges to shift both patient and provider behavior—all embedded in industry-leading tools.
Within the same software providers use every day to run their business, we embed opt-in health programs for malaria, HIV, vision, and other health areas to deliver cost-effective, accessible care through our network of community pharmacies.
THE CHALLENGE
Private pharmacies and clinics are a preferred point of care in Africa, but this comes with unique challenges
PHARMACIES

Vast but fragmented
Inconsistent quality of care
Little oversight
PATIENTS

Majority uninsured
Effective care unaffordable
Health suffers as a result
THE OPPORTUNITY
We can’t afford to leave ready-to-serve providers and existing health infrastructure on the sidelines of coordinated health programs

- Thousands of trusted providers in remote and underserved communities
- Resilient supply chains outside of government and donor procurements
- Growing demand for digital tools to help pharmacies manage their business
HOW IT WORKS
We build software businesses need, then use that software to deploy health programs in malaria, HIV, and more

A patient visits a pharmacy in our network

The pharmacy enrolls them in our app

The patient receives quality care at set prices
BEHIND THE SCENES
We verify the transaction
A custom-built backend uses AI and other tools to audit care and ensure compliance. We partner with Audere to verify malaria and HIV test results using computer vision, bringing transparency and accountability to every claim.
We reimburse the pharmacy
Small digital payments reward providers for verified care. This aligns financial motives with quality care and corrects distortions in the private market. With malaria, for example, patients skip testing because it adds cost, and providers often earn more by selling medicines over the counter. These reimbursements ensure providers still profit from following clinical guidelines, even for negative tests.
Data improves our programs
We work with governments and global health partners to turn real-time pharmacy data into decisions that drive impact—like where to target support, which products to scale, and how to close care gaps. These insights power the evolution of our current programs and help create new ones.
PROGRAM AREAS
We’ve delivered quality-assured care to more than 1 million patients via outcomes financing contracts
MALARIA
We are ensuring continuity of prevention and treatment for HIV at a fraction of the cost with independent supply chains, shifting towards a cost-effective future
HIV
We are ensuring continuity of prevention and treatment for HIV at a fraction of the cost with independent supply chains, shifting towards a cost-effective future
WOMEN’S HEALTH
We empower women to access and afford the care that best reflects their needs, via unorthodox providers like traditional birth attendants and pharmacies
VISION
We are helping to shape an accessible and sustainable private market for near-vision glasses via pharmacies, contributing to both health and livelihood impacts
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
“Our goal is not just to treat malaria but to build a stronger healthcare infrastructure.”

Prof. Akin Abayomi, Honorable Commissioner for Health, Lagos State
As global health funding undergoes major shifts, Lagos State, Nigeria is charting a new course in malaria pre-elimination that could redefine how healthcare is financed and delivered across Africa.
In a groundbreaking partnership that launched March 2025, Lagos State adopted our digital platform to expand access to high-quality, affordable malaria and fever care. Backed by catalytic financing via a World Bank loan, this initiative demonstrates how technology, strategic partnerships, and innovative financing can drive sustainability—marking a full transition from donor-supported interventions to those that are government-financed and led.
According to the Honorable Commissioner for Health for Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi, “This initiative represents a significant step toward malaria pre-elimination in Lagos. By integrating digital solutions and innovative financing models, we are enhancing the capacity of our health systems to provide better, faster care. Our goal is not just to treat malaria but to build a stronger healthcare infrastructure that can tackle a range of infectious diseases, improving health outcomes for all residents of Lagos State.”
